Compare the cost of living between two cities
Moving abroad, studying, or working remotely? Compare rent, food and transport costs and calculate the salary you need to keep your standard of living.
How we calculate cost of living
We convert representative prices (medians) to a base currency, then apply category weights — housing 35%, groceries 20%, transport 10% and so on — to build a city cost index. See the methodology page for details.

Where does the price data come from?
From our own database, admin entries, licensed public data and user contributions, all reviewed before publication. We do not crawl other services.
Does the salary calculator account for taxes?
The current version estimates based on cost-of-living differences only. Personal income tax and social insurance are not included, and this is clearly noted with the results.
What is the data confidence score?
A 0–100 score combining recency, sample count, source diversity, price consistency and required-item coverage. Treat low-score cities as rough guidance only.
My city is missing. Can it be added?
You can request a city on the contribute page. Cities are published once enough data has been collected.
